Nissan Titan 1500 XD

I guess the main thing I'm talking about is Towing. Numbers on paper as far as max capacity are different vs the real world. The Gas XD holds its own very well as far as comparing acceleration to the regular 1/2 tons. Reviews are getting around 7.4 seconds for 0 to 60 runs with the Gas 5.6.

I'm not sure the 1/2 tons have it beat in the braking department. That is another area the XD has received praise.

No doubt I could get away with a half-ton truck. I've never owned a diesel. I live in Indiana and there is a lot of Cummins pride here. If I could pick a truck to own, it would be a Silverado. But I'd love to own a Cummins one day, just to experience it.

And my Chevy loyalty wouldn't be as insulted buying a Nissan as it would a Dodge or Ford. So, this is why I was considering the Titan XD.

Here an opinion from a Titan XD owner. My previous truck was a 06 Silverado 2500 8.1L 6spd Allison with 4.10 differential, the XD is absolutely more capable than it. This trucks tows amazingly well! Pulling a 8,000 lb travel trailer the XD is a rock solid and stable, pulls the mountains better, smoother riding both loaded and not, and does it with better fuel mileage. Unloaded mpg is 20.5 hwy and 16 city, my avg is 18.5. The reliability is yet to be seen but so far so good. I purchased the Titan XD SV 4x2 in Sept. for 33.2k with a msrp of 46,2k, cheaper than any other manufacturers gas powered 3/4 tons from the big three.

I don't own or tow with a 2016 truck so I give my review based on my own experiences. Looking at ratings on paper is one thing, getting behind the wheel for yourself is another. The forums a full of spec comparators and that does always give the full story. Like the Ford F-250 with a 1800 payload, enough people own and drive them to know they are capable of more. The Titan XD is also capable of more than its stickers rate within reason.
