The service writer told me that the 2.4 liter motor was virtually bullet-proof and to hang on to the vehicle. Per the service writer, "They (Nissan) don't make 'em like that anymore. I think that the next oil change will happen when the truck gets to 125k miles.

My 2 cents worth.

1st gen Frontier drive trains were bullet proof! I just hope my 2nd gen lasts as long as most of the 1st gens last!

Yep! Got a good price on them bulk and they work fine for the 3,750 OCI's that Nissan wants.

If I couldn't get them cheap, I would just run a regular Purolator.

I do occasional track days and a lot of highway miles and have had good UOA's with M1 0w40 at 6,500 miles, so that is what I do.

Using Dino oil, 3750 would probably be safe. I assume that converts to some even number of KM - 6,000

Just wait until they start recommending ester oil for your car at 3,750
