New TV! 65" Sony Bravia A95K OLED

Alarmguy,

That looks like something out of Better Homes and Gardens……..

…,especially the stockings for the four-legged kids…….

Merry Christmas!
:ROFLMAO: Wow, you noticed the dog stockings. Yeah, one is for our dog and one for our daughter who will be visiting on Christmas.
This is our first Christmas in our new home. My wife has been going nuts on the interior, researching and buying pieces. She has really made it a project. I stepped aside, happy with how she is doing.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

For $298.0 bucks, 65inch on roll back at WM looked at a bunch of them in same category not OLED I couldn't tell the difference. I have been running it all weekend no complaints at all.

At that price point you really can't go wrong. Almost all of the TV's in that range come out of the same factory, so it's no surprise you couldn't tell a difference.

Until recently, I had a 58" Insignia in the bedroom that was something like $279 new. Was it great? No. But for the value, it was perfect for it's use case.

I've been in the market for/drooling over OLED televisions for a couple years now, with my heart pretty much set on a 65" LG C3. Well... yesterday the Best Buy gods came through in a BIG way!

I happened to be on their website checking LG prices as I do occasionally, and I noticed that they had the Sony A95K available as an open box in "good" condition for $1,298.00! Long story short, the unit I got was still in the original packaging and looked 100% new aside from being opened for inspection.

It's going to take some time to break in the display, but so far it looks INCREDIBLE. I've never had a display look so lifelike and crisp. The A95K was the top of the line Sony in 2022, and uses a QD-OLED. Launch price was $3,999.99 and the last price I could find for new units was $2,999.99 meaning I got an almost new unit for over 50% off.
I still have my Sony Bravia 4K 900 series with 120Hz native, HDR10 and other things I have no clue how to operate, have no regrets. It's ability to interact with my Ps5 has made it flawless.
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐

I remember buying it and the guy telling me.Only you will still have it up to date for quite some time and he wasn't wrong. I was only informed to stay away from anything that was in sixty hertz especially in 2160p or 8K. I actually wanted to go to 8K, but he urged the lack of support and stated that 4k would be mainstream for quite awhile. Honest sales guy.

I picked up a Sony - 55" Class BRAVIA XR A80L OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV a few months back and the picture is amazing. The sound was pretty lacking as was the initial Sony soundbar but I replaced it with a Samsung soundbar that sound awesome! I was previously a Samsung guy but I think Sony has better build quality and I'm really enjoying this TV.
best sounding internal speakers on any LED tv I owned is my pioneer fire tv. My 70” onn Roku tv has very anemic sound I paired it with a Phillips roku ready 2.1 bar sub combo.

Yeah, this Sony sounds tinny. So I bought a Sony 2.1 soundbar and then the problem was no matter how I configured it you couldn't hear people's voices. Even when I set it to amplify voices it just amplified background noises. The Samsung bar I have now is also a step up from the Sony bar (2.1 vs 5.1) it replaced so not apples to apples but wow it sounds fantastic.

Yeah i know it’s physics how much sound could one expect from a flat object with not much space for acoustics but with modern technology electronics and speakers they could make these tvs sound better but then where would the market be to push sound bars. lol

Well, the Samsung it replaced was just as thin and sounded 10x better. The Samsung's issue was the screen was only 5 years old and already had artifacts and a section went dim. I have a 12-year-old Samsung in my bedroom that also sounds much better than the Sony but it is admittedly much thicker and so more room to work with there.

Same here my post on page one. The Sony was worth the cost for us.
Paired with the JBL Bar 500 it is amazing. The sound does reflect incredibly well off the side walls to the point that you look for speakers there. Of course room dimensions play a huge role in each particular home with reflecting speakers vs actual.

A lot of reviews online but it was two people in this forum that got me more serious about the JBL and they were right. Lots of good bars out there and we tried and returned many priced as much as $800 ish

Figured I'd update this post with a summer surprise: we're now officially a TWO OLED household!

While the 65" continues to impress in the living room, I've been casually keeping an eye out for any 75" deals to use in our bedroom. Last night, I decided to take a look at Micro Center's website where I stumbled across a refurbished Sony 77" A80K OLED listed at $959.99. I immediately reserved the set and drove into town this morning to retrieve it.

Other than coming in a plain brown box, everything about the TV is flawless. I checked the service menu, only 10 power cycles and 35 total hours of runtime. I ran panel slides to verify pixel function and check for color banding, test which passed with flying colors.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for the sun to go down so I can see what she can really do.

Prior year closeouts of last year's top of the line items often are great values - I hope you enjoy your new OLED TV!
