Id like to know how the 3/8 and 1/2 drive long 120xp compare to the icon stuff. Just bought icons to replace my pittsburgh ratchets during the 40% off sale.
This isn't an answer to your question, but I picked up the Icon 3/8" long flex head ratchet during that sale and I've been reaching for that an awful lot lately.

All of my regular 3/8" flex heads are 120xp, and I like those a lot. Very smooth. Choosing the Icon over it would be more about leverage, in my case.

One difference between the two is that the 120xp flex head has detents every 30*, where the Icon is a smooth flex that can be used at any angle.

I have been using a full set of flex Gearwrench 120XPs for about 3 years now, the heads are smaller and more slim vs the Icon flex ratchets. I have since shifted the 120xp's to my mobile packouts in favor of using Icon's out of my garage for the next 3-4 months.

I am more partial to the GearWrench ratchets than the ICON ones. Think the fit and finish is better but that is subjective.

Just to be clear, I was talking about ratchets and not wrenches.

Picked up a wrench cheater.

Sounds like everybody loves the 120xp. I may break down and buy a set without the soft grip handles. Wrench cheater looks nice, probably save me some pinched fingers and busted knuckles.

I have got two entire trays filled. One with straight extensions, one with swivels/adapters. Harbor freight has these very cheap with warranty.
It was just the 1/2" ones I was lacking. I'm good on 3/8" and 1/4" extensions and swivels. I don't do much serious wrenching, which is why I guess I've always been able to get by with either my 3/8" or 1/4" stuff. But recently, when changing the oil filter on our BMWs, I found myself needing a 1/2" extension to remove the oil filter cap. I can just barely get the 27mm socket on it without an extension, but the extension will give me a lot more room to move my ratchet, and make the job a lot easier.

1/2” drive works for your car (good thing), but sometimes the sockets can either be a tight fit or no fit.

3/8” drive, 27mm socket by Lisle for oil filter caps:

I hate that style u-joint and honestly not sure I've ever used it in 1/2" drive. I do have one just in case as there are unique situations where they can help.

The impact u joints are much easier to use. The kind shown above seem to wobble and twist too much.

Koken also sells "chrome" ones -- I think it's their "Z" series? -- that are smaller on the OD of the body but presumably not up for as much abuse. Still, more compact on diameter which can be handy as my main complaint with the impact ones is diameter. I'm actually not sure if Koken offers a 1/2" but I have them in 1/4" and 3/8"
