XTOOL D8S Bi-Directional scantool + Foxwell OBD port extension cable. It was Russian roulette with the various tablet-based scantools on amazon, found this recommended by a youtube mechanic The Car Care Nut

Needed the extension cable for this scantool because this honkin connector (why does it need a barrel power connector if it powers the tablet via the OBD port?!) gets in the way of being stepped on.

Sunex driveline impact sockets - for tight clearance. Metric. 1/2” drive. I haven’t had much success with adding a separate u-joint on impacts, so, I’m hoping these might be better at transmitting torque.

These seem like they would be pretty handy. Please let us know your thoughts after you have had them for awhile, might have to pick them up. Do you have a part number or link for the kit?

I bought this HF plastic rivet gun yesterday. I usually just use old BMW style pins with center plastic screws but I am low on them.
I have to swap a X1 rear washer pump and have to remove the fender trim so I figured for $15 why not, if it is trash and works once no big deal. It is far from trash, made in Taiwan not China and made well, it is a solid tool that operates smoothly and is not janky. I did get OE rivets though but the ones that come with the tool are not terrible either.

Ive been getting more serious with my shop and also the tools i use. Purchased sae/metric mid length socket sets from gearwrench. Slowly building a tool collection job by job. Not on a tool truck budget yet but a long ways from where i was last year just getting into a physical building of my own. Also, i have been replacing some of the cheap harbor freight stuff i bought last year with slightly better tools.

Id like to know how the 3/8 and 1/2 drive long 120xp compare to the icon stuff. Just bought icons to replace my pittsburgh ratchets during the 40% off sale.
This isn't an answer to your question, but I picked up the Icon 3/8" long flex head ratchet during that sale and I've been reaching for that an awful lot lately.

All of my regular 3/8" flex heads are 120xp, and I like those a lot. Very smooth. Choosing the Icon over it would be more about leverage, in my case.

One difference between the two is that the 120xp flex head has detents every 30*, where the Icon is a smooth flex that can be used at any angle.

I picked one of these up last week, and I think it's a game changer. Need to be careful though; even with no downward pressure it was taking some aluminum off my cylinder head.
I have yet to use it - but your result doesn’t surprise me at all…
