New tool thread

I recently realized my Sunex jumbo crow foots skipped 1-5/16" when I was, well, kind of in need of a 1-5/16"

So I ordered up a lightly used SnapOn on ebay

I bought a 505 series Mitutoyo metric dial caliper at toolsid.com, for $95 (plus S&T). The 505 series was upgraded back in 2015. I read that many of the inch sized dial calipers from Mitutoyo are being manufactured in Brazil, but the metric ones are manufactured in Japan.

(the dial face looks flawed because of room reflections)

I finally bought a rotating bench vise, a Yost model 750-DI

New to me wrench haha. Got it out of a repo at work. People never came for their stuff so it’s ours now. We are allowed to keep anything we find in cars that does not affect value that are trade ins, repos etc. Friend got a nice leather jacket and tons of movies. This was the only tool we found besides the Jack which we are not allowed to keep.

New tool haul.

Capri Tools sae/metric master hex set.
Capri Tools star master set.
Rocket Socket bolt extractor set.

Normally i don't keep tools in the blowmold cases, as they are usually not good cases, and easier to access. But with these, the cases are nice too, and with so many, i may leave them in the cases.

Capri makes a very decent case as well as the tools, those are one of the few cases I keep it would be a shame to just throw them out.

Tire inflator. Surprise from my parents. We have an air compressor but I hate dragging the hose out to the car just to air up tires lol. We will see how it works I’ve never used one like this before. Time to go freeze my tail off and try it out lol.

Thanks. I like good quality tools, These probably would not be up to pro level use. But appear to be very good diy sets.

My Capri hex and torx master bit set holds up very well in everyday use. Also holds up on impacts don’t ask me how I know lol 😆. Especially the T30 1/4 inch which sees the most use. My only complaint about it is not having the T30 in 3/8 but I have one separately I bought from a different brand as Capri didn’t offer one. I’d put them in like with Tekton. I’ve been using several other tools from them here recently like that trim set I posted and the 3/8 impact sockets hold up very well. The plastic trim set is definitely a step up from the HF I was using.

Cleaned out one Advance Auto so far. $176 took all of this. TEQ is being replaced by Diehard tools so we were out riding around and seen an Advance we had never been in before. The nice workers inside let us come behind the counter and get what we wanted as all tools are behind the counter. I was like a kid in a candy store. The 3/4 ratchet was $12.99 and the breaker bar $16.99. The 1/2 ratchet I can’t remember I think it was $10 something. My mom said I’m crazy for spending that much but I’m a happy boy and that’s what counts. To be fair I can use most of this stuff especially the torx bits. My Capri master set doesn’t have a T30 3/8 drive or a T15 3/8 either and doesn’t have a T47 or T70 at all. I have all them at home besides the T70 but I use them all at home too working on stuff and I got the extra T70 to keep in the cart as a Subaru tech it should be in your cart. All this stuff is just rebranded Gearwrench so I’m not worried and it feels good quality too. The ratchets and breaker bar is Taiwan made along with both Gearwrench sockets as well. And I know for a fact I can use the stubby ratcheting wrenches. It’s a shame they don’t include a 17mm stubby though. But anyway I’m happy and most of this will go to work. Now we are going to another store location and see what they have the next one we are going too has all the tools out in the isle so hopefully I can find goodies there too.
