New tool thread

I bought these push pin and panel clip pliers to replace the bumper cover on my 2012 Colorado. The push pin pliers worked well when pulling out the inner pin. The panel clip pliers were needed to remove the rest of the clip. Contrary to videos I watched before making the purchase, I found the panel clip pliers more useful, at least in my situation, since you can use it to remove both parts of the clip.

Could also use these for spaghetti and meatballs . 🤤

More never can have too many…
Stahlwille long 75 deg offset box wrenches, 6-22, 21 skipped. Pic shows 7 there are 8. 20-22 was out of the box.
$70 through Amazon. I really like the understated chrome finish, feels just right, very smooth. Not polished more than needed. The wings around the box ring are very wide which is a sign they are strong. I guess there is no warranty coming from the UK or somewhere. Maybe there is, I won’t need it. Thanks to posters here for talking about them. Never owned one before. Seems like a bargain compared to some others.

So I might of bought an impact 🙂. A cordless impact. And new guy at work won’t be using it I know that for a fact. This is the one I wanted since I plan to build up my collection of Milwaukee stuff. My parents said they would buy me the Kobalt or they would give me the amount towards this one. I told them I’d be grateful for either one but they have bought me a lot of stuff so I insisted on buying this on my own. I paid $349 for it. But they did buy me the three year warranty for it for $55. I got it at the Home Depot which I’m not a big fan of but they had it. They had one and it was at the Home Depot in the ghetto lol. We called earlier but they said absolutely no holds. And we got 10% off from my moms military discount. I feel like I got a good deal.

Best of the best, you can buy the skipped sizes individually. Don't look for full polish on high end German and most Euro tools, it was/is considered the sign of cheap junk with a few well known brand exceptions eg Snap on, Nepros, etc.

That thing is pretty heavy for a everyday impact, The 1/2" Mid Torque is much better suited for that & does 95% of my 1/2" impact duties. Minimizing fatigue now goes a long way.

Would the mid torque pull off wheels? I did notice this is as heavy as my coworkers Matco guns if not heavier.

It will. I have an older model from Makita the XWT11Z which is not a strong as the latest one I got the XWT18Z and it takes wheels off with no problem. It is small and great for most jobs, the 18Z is a great all round gun for even bigger job but still smaller than the big guns.
For big stuff I use air. I am sure Milwaukee has similar products.

Agreed. My 2nd gen mid-torque may need a few more hammers to remove a "very tight" fastener, but it is the superb all-around choice for most automotive 1/2" impact duties.

Though, if you can only afford one impact, I would stick with air and get the IR 2235timax (not the quiet version). Mine is unbelievable.

Well I’ve used it a lot today already and it’s great. Not as heavy as it seems still heavy though. Since I waited weeks and weeks till they had one in stock I’ll probably keep it. Everyone I had talked too said that was the one to get if I would of known the mid torque would of worked I probably would of gotten that one instead.

New Craftsman tools. The first one I was introduced too by my coworker. I always thought it was one of those gimmicks that they had but I was wrong it saves your fingers from hot oil when doing an oil change. He let me use it and said he guaranteed by next week I’d have one and boy was he correct. I don’t do many oil changes anymore but man when I do this will be handy.

Second and third picture is a 19mm impact socket. Someone switched the tag on it though and it was just laying on the shelf but it’s the only one they had. I have a 19mm impact it’s just it’s getting worn out and starting to fade and round off stuff so I went ahead and purchased another one.

I also picked up a 4.5mm and 5.5mm socket. I know I’ll definitely need the 5.5 I’ve been using that almost everyday as we work on a ton of Fords I don’t know how much I’ll use it once I move to a specific brand but it’s serving me well now. Not sure I’ll ever need the 4.5 deep socket but I got it to fill in the gap and it’s good to have anyways. Unfortunately didn’t pay attention and grabbed an old stock made in China one but oh well for something that small I’m not worried and if it does break all it takes is an email to Craftsman for a replacement.

Lastly, radiator and hose picks. Very handy. I was originally going to buy some from Snap-on but I decided to give these a try instead. It was the last pack they had on the shelf and I always see them sold out so they must be pretty decent.

I’ll probably be laughed at by my coworkers but honestly I don’t care. They buy what works for them, I buy what works for me. They laugh when I buy Snap-on too they think everything should come from Harbor Freight. Craftsman has been good to me about warranty and they are building a factory here in my hometown so I figured I will be good back to them by buying their stuff.
