Some new tools today since we now have Snap-on Monday instead of Thursday. The master rethreading set is on sale still so I got a good deal. Actually got it for less than sale price too. Then since I wanted another ratchet I got this one it’s a purple I originally thought it was dark blue but that’s ok I like purple too. Then I got my 15mm socket from the pawn shop replaced with the warranty. Same with the screwdriver tip too. Dealer said he doesn’t care cause he still gets credit either way. And I made a $100 payment today.

Also…to add since I was honest he gave me a free hat. He mistakenly gave me the ratchet for 50 cents so I went back out there to tell him. I can’t do someone wrong like that that’s not me at all. Also bought a small screwdriver since he was out of the pocket ones.

Don’t bother with the cheap Teflon tape. Blue monster tape is the best stuff you can get without ordering it or finding an industrial supply.
I normally use the liquid Permatex Teflon tape but I don’t want people using that so I bought this cause it’s less expensive and people always need it lol.

Normally, I buy new tools as needed for the job but last weekend I took the plunge and bought ICON xlarge wrench sets (flex and fixed) and swivel impact set. I've been waiting forever for any discount but never seen any. 10% off with new credit card was the only option. Can't justify for the $500 spend.....

A Heyco 17-19 mm wrench bought in a thrift store, says BMW on the other side, must have come from a BMW tool kit. I noticed it is thinner than standard, next to a Wright, which is about the usual thickness. I looked up Heyco, sets of these are still available. The finish is very nice on it. This one being West Germany has some age to it.

I’m generally a fan of wrenching with 1/4” drive to the greatest extent possible, but wanted a compact and enclosed 3/8” drive kit. I figured I’d get SK before they get offshored, and I found a good deal from a guy out in western PA.

Interestingly, the SK chrome tools are Cr-Mo, not Cr-V like most. I didn’t know that.

Warranty replacement vise grips from Harbor Freight. Well the middle set is. I found a set under the hood of a car this week so took them to Harbor Freight then the manager said well I will give you the middle ones and if you are interested I’ll give you the other two for $5 out the door tax included I said ok deal I probably don’t need them but hey they are good to have.
They would not stay closed for very long I think they were just plain worn out. Probably a little older too cause of the color difference. But the cashier and manager gave me no hassle at all and were very friendly.

All the sockets except the big one are AutoCraft. I don’t know why but I love auto parts store tools I just think they are cool lol. The extension is a TEQ also from Advance Auto. The big 15/16 socket is a Craftsman USA. When I got to the register the guy counted them looked at them and said $32 for everything I looked at him and said pass. The lady working there chased us out the door begging to make a deal so I finally got them down to $10 probably too much but oh well I like tools and heck she wanted to make a sale she seen my Snap-on shirt and hat and was chatting about that too so I just gave the $10 and out the door I went.

Next up pawn shop hauls: first is the oldest pawn shop in the United States located in Lynchburg Virginia called L. Oppleman pawn shop. The pliers are Snap-on so is the rusty wrench. You can barely see it but it is. I’m going to see if my dealer can help me out on warranty with the pliers the tip of them is messed up. No problem if he can’t but I think he will especially after I was honest with him on that ratchet. $8 for all of that.

Snap-on Monday today. Ordered the power blue screwdriver set and got some fill in and warrantied tools. The pliers are warranty for ones I got at the pawn shop. Picked up an extra 10mm cause you know you gotta have an extra of those. Then the impact sockets is a 3/8 20mm deep to fill in my set. The other two are a 15/16 and 1 inch to fill in my set as well. All 3/8 drive 6 points. I’m excited for the screwdriver set as I love blue. It’s not in stock but it allowed him to order it so hopefully it will be in soon. It’s a want and not a need but I’ve only got a few actual good screwdrivers so I’ll be excited to get them. I don’t care for the instinct handles otherwise I would of picked up a set of them.

I know you all probably think I’m spending a lot on tools but I’ve realized over the last few months that I’ve been at this shop that good tools actually make a difference. Not saying everything has to be Snap-on cause that certainly isn’t true but the service is top notch for sure. The Snap-on stuff I normally do not loan out so no worries there. Hope the screwdrivers don’t take a month to arrive like my coworkers torque wrench did.

Tekton 12” flex head QR 3/8” drive. Great feel in my hand. Looking forward to using it today.

That's why they did well with the trucks coming to the work place. When you are working on the clock, you don't have time to drive to Home Depot, wait in line, and come back. It's worth every penny. The money spent is nothing in the big picture. Won't mean a thing down the road except will have a good bunch of Snap On tools.

As long as you aren't buying expensive tools that you don't NEED RIGHT NOW at a faster rate than you get money coming in I don't see the issue. You still live at home so you don't have much expenses there, certainly not in the same league as someone living on his own.

They are trying to clear out all the Matco from work so I bought all this. Showed up at home with it and thought I would be dead cause my parents were angry about it. I politely explained that I need tools to do my job and these tools were on sale for major reductions. The most I paid for the ratchets were $40 for the big 1/2 drive one used. The rest were about $20. Screwdriver set (which they were the most angry over) was $30. Long pick I want to say was $5. Cornwell ratchet $15. And that’s not even everything. I will continue the post with another as I can only insert 10 pictures. Forgot to take a picture of the wheel lock remover set that was $20 too. I’ll take a picture and post later with the shirts. The Blue Point impact was $30 as well and it works. The Sunex impact socket was $4.50. The non grip ratchet fixed head was $27 the locking flex 3/8 was $20. I have been wanting another locking flex 3/8 from Matco for awhile now. They have boxes too and the most expensive is $2,000 I’m thinking of picking one up as my box is filled to the brim since HF doesn’t have any top boxes or side lockers in stock. Or I might get a tool cart too. I’ve got the money to do it so I don’t see a problem with it.

Got all these hats too. Even bought a second camo one for my dad. After that he seemed to not be angry at all. Forgot to take pictures of the shirts I got. But I pretty much bought one of every hat and shirt. Oh and the Snap-on one is because he gave me that one when I walked on the truck with a Matco hat. I would of been wearing my Snap-on hat had I known he was showing up lol. He grabbed it off my head and handed me this one. I can get another of the plain black ones at the warehouse for like $3 so not that big of a loss lol. A coworker I never cared for gave me the original one anyway.

Also purchased this individual screwdriver too since the set didn’t have one. After these and my Snap-on ones come in I won’t need to get anymore at least not for awhile lol.
