i was sort of thinking the same thing too levi, but i am not the kind of guy that would say anything! (big grin!)
I lived in hawaii from birth to 11. I have lived in Puget sound area most of my life. I remember seeing snow for the first time, I was about 9 years old. It was awesome!
I also lived in San Diego for 2.5 years. I got sick of the sun and heat. I liked late fall thru early spring weather. I don't know how I ever survived living in those climates....too hot.
I like the seasonal changes now. Maybe I am just getting old.....

For Honda, just go with whatever Honda recommends.
And in case you question why not thicker, there's an SAE report (dated around 1998 or 99, submitted by HOnda engineering research division) that they are going after thinner oil with well-justified results and such for thinner grade.
Lastly, there's already a guy on the board who lives in Mojave desert running M-1 5W20 on his wifey's CRV and the results is nothing short of impressive.
