I’m totally the opposite. While the Tesla design isn’t the most beautiful, the Ioniq is downright funny looking.

Yeah, like most modern performance cars, it has piped in artificial engine noise.

My Elantra N has it, but it can be completely turned off.

I think it’s really cool. But for the money they ask for it, I think there would be a lot of cars ahead of it on my list.

I think it started a few years ago, I want to say, with BMW, when they went to turbocharged engines.

Some turbocharged engines don’t have a great sound, so some OEMs decided to play artificial engine noise through the speakers.

And with some vehicles, like the Civic Type R, you can’t even turn it off! Well, you can unplug the module that is responsible for it. Which is what a lot of guys have done.

Fake engine noise and gear shifts. My friends drop dead gorgeous BMW i8 can play engine sound through the radio. For $165 large, you get a lot! By the way, she thinks it's stupid.

Looks are in the eye of the beholder, it seems. I am glad the Hyundai works for some; I find it horrid.

Both of the video cars are (relatively) slow at 11.3 quarter times. The European Model 3 Performance is down on power at 460. The US version is 510 and is a 10 second car. Some believe the power is closer to 600 due to track times.
