New Taycan Update.

Available in the spring. That’s in the space time continuum that we live in.

Stunning. It beat the Plaid with Track Package at the 'ring by 19 seconds and by 26 seconds than the fastest current Taycan.
The Taycan Turbo GT will be amazing. Heck, the base Taycans are flat out beautiful and they have recently improved the range issues. The Rimac Nevara may be a little faster, but is not really a production car. If and when the Tesla Roadster II sees the light of day, all bets are off.

Big bucks, but you gotta pay to play. The new Tesla Model 3 Ludicrous is more my speed...

At $200,000 shouldn't it crush Tesla?
I dont think anyone would think otherwise. The looks of the car are without question like a work of art. Beautiful chick magnet too which I suspect will be the clientele.
You will never see one of these for $200K. Base price is $230K I believe, and you will never see one at that price either. The Plaid is $90K but you need the Track Package to keep close to the Turbo GT. Both cars are mid 9 second qtr mile times...
When the gorgeous Taycan 1st came out, wifey and I were walking in downtown Palo Alto. Sue saw this one and said, "Ooh, is this ours?"

The Tutbo GT track times are not that far off from the Rimac Nevera, which is a cool $2.5M. Of course it depends on the track...

It’s the car I would have if I had the means for sure.

We actually saw one of these in Turkey on the way to our hotel from the airport in September.
Color me surprised!

It could get 500mpg, I'm still not buying a$125k car... or one 1/4 that even.
I think that’s many of us though. Vehicles are too big of depreciating assets to want to spend &
$200k+ even if I could.

There’s too much fun and efficient stuff under $50k even it it doesn’t set a speed record whether it’s EV or ICE.

My problem is, I lend my cars out. Ever seen what a scratch or dent repair costs on a drop dead gorgeous Porsche?
Regardless, the Taycans are getting past their early problems. Numerous recalls and poor range.

The Model 3 Performance is a flat out bargain for the level of performance you get; there are others.
While they are not for me, the Kias, for example, are flat out fast. The EV6 ($60K) does GT 0-60 in mid 3 second range; take that Ferrari and Lambo.

But wait for the new Model 3 Ludicrous; over 600HP. Possibly high 2 second 0-60 times, with suspension and brakes to match.
But I you gotta spend $250K, the Roadster II just might be the one. If it's ever built, that is.

I giew the 2 speed as a downside. They whine a lot and seem to need replacement many cases. At least per the Taycan forum. And, they aren't needed. So for what?
Because Porsche wants top acceleration and sustained operation at high speeds without heat issues. Most EVs really tail off above 80 mph or so. A Model 3 Performance is slower than my M2 competition was to 130 mph which is not an especially fast car by today's standards.

Yes the Model 3 Performance trails off after about 100 mph. Under that it is screaming fast. 0-60 very low 3 seconds and qtr mile in 11's. That's fast, especially for the money. 0-100 in low 8 second range, 0-130 in lower 16 seconds. Big drop off after 100 mph.

Meh. Porsche needs to make better motors. This is a 562hp 4s

This is my 576hp ev6 gt. No 2 speed needed. Just quality motors.

This was with a pretty bad headwind. 10-20mph gusts.

14.70+7.76=22.46 to 150mph raw, 22.25s 1ft rollout removed 0-150. Id like to have run it without the wind, but the event was what it was.

Keep in mind Taycan Cd is 0.22 and ev6 GT is 0.297.

Kia just uses better motors and doesnt need a 2 speeds for high speed performance. Same with Tesla in model S.

Any way you slice it, that's around a 3C charge rate. A range where dendrite growth is expected. The hope is that these "next gen" cells have some form of dendrite growth prevention in their chemistry (a high discharge rate is said to help reduce dendrite size, and maybe blowing out the cobwebs every once in a while is the answer) . An ideal charge rate would be 15 times lower than that.
Kia charges at 3C, and multiple DC charged batteries are up there (100k mi plus) and doing fine. Good cooling and bms handle it.
