Intriguing.

As interesting as it is to have VOAs and UOAs here at BITOG, it's nice having a bunch of the major brands all lined up in a table for quick reference.

Looks like I should be pretty well off with Pennzoil.

MC5K and Havoline look nice. Valvoline doesn't look so hot which suprises me. Other than that could someone elaborate on the sulfur varying so much between brands?

not enough difference to swing my thought either way. uif your using dino just by whats cheap.

Nice wouldn't mind seeing a synthetic version

The additive package shown by an UOA does not show all of the oil's make-up. There are many friction modifiers and other elements that may not show up.

I knew all this stuff.

shell looks the best for antiwear and it looks like mobil has the best cleaning ability. valvoline isn't even in the same league as the others; it looks like a second-grade oil!

and castrol aint much better

overall it looks like mobil 5000 wins hands down. nothing else is even close. havoline and shell would be my next two picks, and i'm surprised cause shell looks to be even better than pennzoil or quaker state, the two premium brands!

Well, if moly makes it the best for you than that's your oil. I personally like the high boron numbers in the PYB and QS.

And I agree, Tom's post without all of our other comments would make for a good sticky at the top of this section. I just hope they keep their site updated as all the new formulations start coming out.

Glad I'm using Shell. Lots cheaper for me than Halvoline and Mobil.

how can u not say mobil's the best from looking at that chart? it wins in every category EXCEPT boron which i wish it had more of, but it does have a lot more calcium than anyone else
