Been using the M1-103A on my Rav4 but wanted to dissect a new Purolator to see if it would be another option I might want to use. Took a quick look inside the four that were on the shelf at Walmart and was pleased that all had wide open louvers so I bought one.

I've been shoveling rock all afternoon and very tired while posting this so if you have any specific questions, ask and I'll try to clarify.

In a nutshell...

-Several loose specs of glue inside before cutting open. Collected over paper towel. Caliper set at .010" for reference.
-Discovered more glue in several louvers after cutting away the filter media.
-Excess glue squeezed under the bypass valve.
-Bypass valve not seated with .012"- .015" of gap on opposite side of where the glue made its way under.

Needless to say I won't be buying another.

looks good, no reason not to use this filter, probably better than most on the market, other than the Purolator one filter that may have a more fine filtering media.

Their glue slop is keeping an otherwise good filter out of my buy plans. I really want to have other options at WM but always have that in my mind these days.

you’re joking right? lose black glue everywhere, bypass valve not seated correctly and known bad efficiency from M+H’s own specs. any of the premium guard options are leagues ahead of anything M+H is producing.

Yes, that's certainly the wise choice but thought I seen them lately for a lot of $$. I need to look up some of my model numbers.
Yeah, they are surprisingly expensive there. I've found it's cheaper to just buy one of the oil change specials at any auto parts store with the 5 qt jug of my choice. Advance will even let you have one of the $17 (!) Extended Performance filters for no upcharge with their deal.

Yep, I bought one of those EP's for $17 but next time I'll get the bundle. Online never gave me the option to select 5w-30 ESP when I bought it but when I went inside the store the guy told me it can be bundled. My other favorite bundle is the Autozone Mobil 1 0w-40 ESP x4. The China STP filter I've been getting is good. (y)
