Cracked my screen on my s21 this weekend

Just hit a Best Buy, Pixel 8 same price as S23.
Never have had a Pixel. Kid offered that it's definitely a better phone, bases on battery life, camera, etc.

So, what say you, members?

I've got the Pixel 6. I'm going for another Pixel if/when this one dies; I broke my first one when I dropped it but this insurance refurb one hasn't hiccuped. I can't say that about the Samsung and LG phones I've had previously.. Zero bloatware on this when I got it.

Camera on the samsung is really nice though, way nicer than the Pixel one but that's the only pro imo.

I have the older pixel 6 and switched from Samsung. Samsung phones age so horribly in comparison. This thing is still snappy and fast and the battery life has gotten better over time. Overall a solid device, i like the camera and it's equally as good.

The pixel 9 is coming out very soon. Either aug 13th or 14th so you could get the 9 for the same price as the 8 right now or the 8 on a discount once it becomes the "old" model very soon. If your Samsung still works I think I'd keep using it for not even 2 whole weeks more to get the 9 or a discounted 8.

should have said - trying to keep it at a price point. Both phones are at 699.

Edit: apparently the Pixel 8 pro is already reduced. I had asked about the 7, and it's more expensive than the 8 (on the web).

$699 for the 8 Pro is a great price, I don't think you'll do much better after the 9 comes out.

We've gone thru 4 generations of Pixels.

Never again.

I got a Samsung S24 Ultra for half price (from Google Fi), and LOVE it.

THERE IS NO BLOAT. Yes, there are Samsung versions of some apps. Big deal.

Battery lifetime for me is double that of my P7 Pro.

Neither camera is as nice as any recent Sony, pocketable, P&S, or full-frame.

I love the ability to customize many things, including putting shortcuts to almost any function on the main screen, using Activity Launcher.

And signal reception is noticeably better, just like so many have claimed.

I have an 8 PRO and and I'm well pleased. I can't compare the two you mentioned as this is my 4th or 5th Pixel. It has exceeded my expectations in every way but one...standard storage is 128, inexcusable for a flagship phone. I coughed up the extra $50 for 256. The pure Android experience and updates the day they are released are major plusses.

Pixel 9 series phones available for pre-order.
$250 off pixel 9; $350 off pixel 9 pro and pixel 9 pro xl.
Then, memory bump for free, so 256GB is price of $128GB, and $512GB is price of $256GB.
Last, 1 year of AI Premium for free, then becomes $19.99/mon after that.

Exact wording of that last benefit:
Get a year of Gemini Advanced on us, as part of the Google One AI Premium plan
($239 value) when you buy Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Verizon's giving me $920 for my Pixel 7 Pro against against a $1319 Pixel 9 Pro XL
There was an extra promo on top, where if you pre order, you get the 512GB model for the 256GB price 👍

Monthly costs going down ~$10 per month, and a new flagship in my hand 👌

This time I'm staying out of the beta program
Getting too old for daily instability 🙄

I pre-ordered Pro-XL 9 for me and wifey through ATT. Turned in our 6 Pro and got the new phones for free. Coming next week or so.

Hard to argue with that deal. I can't find a way that a phone I actually want won't cost me at least $50/month Canadian.
