New phone...Pixel 8 pro vs S23

Hard to argue with that deal. I can't find a way that a phone I actually want won't cost me at least $50/month Canadian.
Yeah but one must know his actual monthly payment for the phone service. There are good deals out there. We had one with T-Mobile, then they got stupid after 2 years and we quit. Back to US Mobile this time. Last time was Red Pocket, another great one.

Either way you pay but the right deal you can make out ok for sure because they know most people wont leave after two years and how it can benefit those who do.

Don't concur with your reply. I suspected your reply should have read:

"There are good deals out there. We had one with T-Mobile, then they executed the typical subscription business model of changing terms/conditions/ prices, knowing 99 percent of consumers won't change their cell provider. I am the one percent who refuses to be lazy/ get expolited by these typr of business practices".

Yes my plan is for the phone only. My wife pays the same but then also pays $35 a month as a lease payment for her iPhone 14 pro which has to be returned in 2 years and then she gets a new one and keeps paying the same.

I guess it's worth mentioning that because of CRTC rulings the Canadian cell providers can't hide the price of the phone. They have to clearly show what you're paying for the phone and even if they give you a big discount on the phone (as I got on my lg v60 4 years ago) it's shown on your bill and they take the discount they gave you off your bill each month until it's paid off (in 2 years). They can't make you pay for more than 2 years I believe (they used to have 3 year plans and now it's all 2 years). Phones can last more than 3 years now so maybe a 3 year plan should be allowed again. I could go to Samsung.com and pay monthly through them for 3 years for the newest ultra (I want the s pen for working outside with gloves on in colder weather) or I could buy a 2 year old used s24 ultra or pixel 9 pro in another couple years for like $600.
