Went to my local AutoZone to dump used oil and found a new pennzoil product I never seen before. The label is very similar to PUP but in pure black. 5w-20 and 5w-30 on the shelf. What intrigued me is that it is already on clearance price for $2/quart despite it's on the newest api SP rating. Has anyone used it?

Didn't say gas to liquid, as far as I can see. Anyone know if it is, or simply regular full synth? PP has been good for my 19 Sorento.

Pennzoil is selling:

Full Synthetic
Pennzoil Platinum
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

All targeted to a certain market / price point. Which will all overlap somewhere.
Not that confusing to the average consumer..../s
And there will also be a FCA-specific version for dealer service fill.

Is the market really demanding all these lines?

PYB (which is semi now)
Gold
Full Synthetic
Platinum
Ultra Platinum

95% of people have no idea the difference between most of these, and especially the last three. At least they don't have Pennzoil Platinum Ultra Pure Plus or whatever it was called anymore.
Add High Mileage and Euro Blends to the mix as well.

Yet another

LOL yet another market oversaturation of oil types by Pennzoil.
Miss the days when the only difference between Pennzoil bottles was the grade and Winter Rating. Not to say those were "better" oils, but a better approach to reality (in general)
