New Honda Ridgeline rendering....

After a 2400 mile road trip pulling a
U Haul 2k empty 4k loaded 6x12 enclosed trailer
last week I really love this Ridge more and more.
The grade logic,comfortable seats and storage room and
driving through the storms.
The more I have read on ROC about the new
coomplications in the update makes me want to find
a new '14 and keep that one forever.
Old school sometime is better for old farts!
I have 70k on a '10 and it has been the best truck
I have ever had.I have had one Dodge,one Ford,and
two Tundras.

It is INDEED a fantastic vehicle.

The naysayers will never think so however. But who cares what they think?

Yes, after reading and thinking about reliability and complication of design....I'm not so sure the new Ridgeline will be as trouble-free down the road. I certainly hope it is.

The last few days as the sun has come out...I've been really enjoying my casual drives in my '12 Ridge. It's my favorite weekend vehicle for outings and viewing the scenery. Last weekend I needed it to haul some large, heavy items (appliances).

I'm so pleased I have this vehicle. Mine has been 100% trouble free as well.

I don't think anyone in the industry programs an automatic transmission better than Honda does. They are pure joys to drive in the mountains or anywhere else where conventional transmission programming frustrates me with its default to "high gear always". In fact, I've never been truly happy with automatic transmission programming until we bought our 2005 Acura. It was shortly thereafter that I traded my Camry for our 2008 Honda. I hadn't owned ANY Hondas until our current two; they won me over in short order.

My brother bought his father-in-law's 2009 Ridgeline after he bought a new 2014 Ridgeline, and he's quickly come to appreciate it as well.

This RL has been my first and only Honda.
I have been through the same mountain roads with my
previous Tundras and both I had to drop down the trans
gears to keep the speed down and not use the brakes.
Neither truck ever pulled a traier while I owned them.
The RL held the cruise controlled speed perfectly with the trailer.
The RL is easy to maintain,except for a sticking caliper
at 64k that has been the only problem.
Believe me IF I could do it I'd like to get a '14.
And run it until I'm done!
Some of the fancy trans interaction talked about on the ROC
scares me.Simplicity sometimes is better.
But progress marches on.

I don't see any Subie BRAT in it, though I did like them. I liked the Ridgeline except for two things: front fascia and lack of fuel economy vs. it's relative lack of "truck" performance. Unlike Toyota, which quit the Venza (similarly borderline vehicle, but with plenty of forward potential), I am happy Honda carried the Ridgeline idea over to a new gen.

They did take away the buttresses which were my favourite part of the Ridgeline. And 9-speed trans? C'mon.
