New firearm day! Taurus TX22

That's a really good deal. Never had a handgun with an optic. I do have a Taurus PT92C with a laser mounted on the rail.
Seems there's plenty of aftermarket options for the magazines now too in all capacities.
I have bad eyes. I am solid to 10-15 yards but once I get to 15 yards, my eyes appreciate an optic

I have 2 TX22's- the first gen (full size?) and the compact. The compact with a suppressor and red dot is so much fun. Never had an issue with either of these pistols.

What kind of fail to fire is it ? Light strikes , failed to load ? Bad ammo ?
I'm referring to failure to feed. Like stovepipe. I think it's magazine related. I'm going to disassemble and use a mag brush and a magazine cleaner

So it's fails to function 10 % of the time? I wouldn't be ok with that.
It depends. Sometimes I can run the 16 or 22 mags a few times before failure to feed. At the most it'll be 1-2 within a 16 or 22 round magazine. But not some times it'll run flawlessly for the whole mag.

No, I'm dumb and instead of using the original screws that came on the gun, I used the screws from viridian and they weren't the EXACT fitment. So I got about 50 rounds through before it got a little loose.

Since the battery is on the bottom, the dot started cutting in and out and that's when I noticed it was loose.

Gun range worker told me to put the original screws back on since they'll be a perfect fit, and he was right. So I put locktite and it's been since yesterday. So should be good to go today.
Took my new TX22 TORO to the range today. I loaded the 3x16 round magazines with Remington Thunderbolt and the 2x22 magazines with Federal Champion 40 grn LRN.
Flawless withe both. BUT....same thing happened to me as with you with the Veridian green dot, the dot disappeared after about 150 rounds...then it came back but very faint.
Took it off at home. The battery was smeared with white colored residue of some sort and the left side of the optic glass looked like it may have separated from the frame of the optic.
I put a new battery in but something is not right with the Veridian green dot.
I'll contact Veridian.

Weird. Ive shot over 1000 rounds and haven't had issues after reinstalling with the right hardware

Well the white stuff on the battery could have been G-96 after 100 rounds or so and the heat generated...and maybe that caused poor contact for the faltering of the green dot. I did spray the magazines with it the night before when I loaded them.
But that glue or whatever it is on the left side...not right.
Also, I just looked closely at the original battery, it's really scratched up on the top. That tells me maybe the sight wasn't torqued down tight enough?
I'm calling Veridian later this AM.

Went to the range today and put about 200-250 rounds of Federal Automatch through the Tx22. Very little issues regarding failure to feed and it was due to me limo wristing when I got too comfy with the zero recoil. When I went back to a firm grip, I had zero failures. Used all 5 magazines.

The difference was using the Remington Drilube spray in the mags

Yeah. I gave all the magazines a douse of G96 just before I loaded them the night before.
Called Veridian this AM. Guy answered after 3 rings. Told him what happened. He emailed a shipping label and told me to drop it off at FedEx. When they receive it, they'll send me a new one. Pretty awesome customer service.
I'm 100% stoked with this gun. If the Veridian doesn't work out over time, I'll pick up another reflex optic with the RMSc footprint... the Holosuns are nice but too $$$$ for .22 plinking for me.

Yea the viridian is working well for me. Holding zero and no issues. So I'm sure yours is a fluke.
