New filter for the 1.4T Ecotec

My parents will be picking up a new Cruze in a few months. I was wondering if the new 1.4T Ecotec used the same filter has the other Ecotec's. I guess it doesn't. I found this filter on Napa's site. It looks to be longer then the the 7082 one.

With the new dexos 1 spec. I would imagine the OLM OCI will be 10K+.

That's the one from my 1.8VVT, also fits the Aveo.

I reuse it once for the 2x a year oil changes.

They are expensive, but I got a few Purolators from Advance on the 5q Edge w/filters OC deals. Iused a $10 off coupon and did a Castrol rebate....15q of Edge and 3 of those $10 filters for under $5 total.

PS look for the German ones, they are mixed in w/other mfgs.


My mom will look at a Cruze soon, to replace her 1996 Passat 4cyl. However, if she's ok w/a wagon I believe the Jetta SportsWagon will be the one.

So the 1.8 is already using this filter then? I wonder why GM wouldn't stick to the same filter size for the entire Ecotec lineup?

I don't know that it is any longer than the Hengst energetic on my Saab ecotec.

Yes, it's used on the Korean Ecotecs. The 2.0/2.2/2.4 Ecotec is a completely different engine. Only thing that is the same is the Ecotec badge.

The 3800 found in many GM's here is called a Ecotec in the Australian apps.
