Efficiency Info on the New Mobil 1 Filter

Thanks Glenda !!! Just printed it out. This will greatly expand my choice. Many thanks to all. You are most kind. I can always count on my BITOGER'S !!!!!!!

Can you post some pics ??
Yes, I took some for the review. I got (2) boxes of 6ea of the Service Pro & (4) boxes of 6 of the Premium Guard.

If I'm not mistaken the extended Mobil 1 filters are made by CHAMPION LABORATORIES. They are ,,99% efficient down to 20 microns.

The Mobil 1 filter was rated at 99% @30u when it was built by Mann+Hummel, and the new Mobil 1 under Highline Warren is still rated at 99% @ 30u. Early on, we were told the new Mobil 1 was 99% @ 20u, but that wasn't accurate info. I had emails with a manager at Highline Warren and he said that Mobil still wanted it to be be built to still be 99% @ 30u. It's printed right on the box.

What is the efficiency rating for Carquest EP at 20u?
Mobil1 is designed for longer OCI just like Carquest EP, so would make sense to compare them both at 20u.
Ive seen someone posting 25u@99% for Carquest EP. Or if we could get mobil1 number at 25u

^^^ Their response was wrt to the 20u efficiency: "Since 20-micron performance isn't part of the standard reporting requirement, it isn't pruned on the box, but the filter does meet or exceed industry expectations at that level".

Wondering what the "industry expectations at that level" (meaning at 20u) are.

Anyway, as mentioned earlier in this thread, when Mobil switched from M+H to Highline Warren as the filter manufacturer, Mobil told Highline Warren that they still wanted to Mobil 1 filter to be made with a target of 99% @ 30u. I had an email going with a manager at HW and that's what he said ... Mobil wanted the same efficiency with the new construction that HW provides.

Mobil1 might be 91%@20u, maybe carquest EP is 95%@20u, both filters might be very close at 20u for practical reasons

Crazy how much efficiency drops off going from 30 to 20 microns
In the ISO test, it would probably land somewhere slightly below the AC Delco Ultraguard Gold in this efficiency vs particle size graph. So not too bad ... not like the Boss or XP drops.

No proof the flow (meaning lower dP vs flow) is any better, could actually be worse if it was actually measured. Total media area is a big factor for dP vs flow performance. Flow over efficiency is a myth. Some people might not be able to see 100u particles, lol.
