Hi there,

after this Thread:

https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/give-gc-a-try-1-8t.155580/

I came across this Engineoil:

http://datasheets.bp.com/bpglis/FusionPDS.nsf/0/871E12AB84E15C34802577ED004A9A18/$file/BPXE-85KSCG_0.pdf

Seems to be a German Castrol in 0W-40 weight...

Any thoughts on this Oil comepared to the other Oils listed in the previos Thread?

Figured since it´s a german oil to post here

I believe that is sold as Castrol Edge Sport 0w40 in other countries. I'm not at my main computer so I can't confirm that, however.

I believe they are different Oils, here´s the Castrol Edge Sport 0W-40 that is sold in Germany also:

From the Page:

And the Castrol SLX Professional Longtec 0W-40:

Looks fine, but there's plenty of other oils that are similar that would work as well. Wasn't aware this existed.

HTHS is 3.5+ but M1 0w40 still has it beat with higher VI of 185 and HTHS of 3.8.

Isnt the HTHS 3,7 for the Castrol?

I´m starting to like this Castrol because it is full synthetic comepared to Shell Helix ore the Mobil 1 NewLife 0W-40.

Thats the reason I started looking for a alternative to Shell Helix 0W-40

But whats the deal with the high VI?

I was thinking, for instance compareing Mobil 1, Shell Helix Ultra 0W-40 to Castrol SLX Professional Longtec 0W-40 (ore even the 0W-30) that oils with a lower VI would be more "stay in grade" ?
