Just got one for c&p. I’ll start a new thread. AAP says they just got them in and don’t even have a place for them yet.
If the media looks to be full synthetic as claimed (and wire backed ?? ... @Glenda W. C&P will show), then I would think it's pretty high efficiency and capable up to their claimed 20K miles. The new Mobil 1 is still rated at up to 20K, but it's 99% @ 30u efficiency.
Why does the "higher tier" Boss and Wix XP have less efficiency than their lower normal tier filter line? Don't be surprised if this 20K EP filter has less efficiency than the 10K rated Carquest Premium.Why would they have LESS EFFICIENCY than Carquest Premium?? Doesn’t make sense?

Same story with the NAPA Platinum and Gold. The Gold was cheaper and higher efficiency.
I saw these the other day also. The Carquest Premium cost me through work $6.23, the EP is $10.18. Not sure if they are worth the extra $4. I'm curious to see the specs on them. I generally run 3-4k intervals on my vehicles, but still prefer premium filters. The extended use doesn't matter to me, but the filtration specs are more important. If it is 20k but has higher filtration efficiency then I am in. If not, I don't see a point in my situation.
The fact the new EP is 100% synthetic and mesh backed could be reason enough for some to “up grade” from Premium…..even with caveat of “unknown” efficiency.
I called PG late Friday but techline was closed already. Will try again Monday for efficiency numbers.
I highly doubt the efficiency will be better than the 99% @20u on the Carquest Premium. If so, then as you say the only advantage would be the up to 20K vs 10K miles rating.

Check this out. On PGI's website it say the full synthetic motorcycle filter they make is 99% @ 5u and larger. "Daul-Phase" media ... must be multi-layered. It's pretty hard to believe that given the OG Ultra was 80% @ 5u. Maybe you can ask PGI about that too. Link goes to the filter details, and it shows a wire backed full synthetic media. Maybe the same as they are using in the CQ EP (?).

That is information for one of their basic filters.. obviously Amazon screwed up which is not rare for them and why you should never refer to Amazon info as gospel.. See where it says 5000 miles.. nitrile gasket... which obviously do not apply to this filter. .. then at the bottom of the page not included in your screenshot it says 99%@5 microns
That's a far cry from 99% @ 5u like PGI website and box shows. Something is all twisted up on the specs. Like said, I'd be amazed if that media was really 99% @ 5u. It seems to be reflecting the Harley "5u Filter" (Harley use and chromed can), but digging into the Harley filter it's not anywhere close to 99% @ 5u.

I'm with you.
I'll be doing 5K/annual OCI regardless of the oil or filter used, for that the CQ premium filter more than fits the need. It ticks all the boxes...good efficiency, silicone ADBV and gasket, (which is the captured "P" style cross-section at least in the one I use), metal crimped seam, coil spring, it all works for me and can't complain about the price. I don't see any point in "upgrading".
There are two threads started yesterday showing them cut open. Should still be on the first page of the Oil Filter forum.
