Black glue will not come off. I tried with a pick. How stout is that black glue/potting material around the center tube ends? Can it be chipped off easily or not?
$16.99How much did you pay for that sucker? Looks like a old Wix xp or Napa Platinum
It’s a stout filter. Not happy there’s no efficiency stated and don’t like the price. Not 100% sure if it’s PG. No “leak tested” on dome and a tad sloppy(still great) compared to the normal PG builds. What are your overall thoughts? Is this a PG product? Still getting myself up to speed on identification of the current better filters.
It's not even on AAP's website yet. When it shows up there will probably be efficiency rating info like they show for the Carquest Premium filters. It would have to be some crazy good media to be 99% @ 20u and also go 20K miles. It doesn't look real thick in the photos. Not holding my breath. Not happy there’s no efficiency stated ...

Awesome info! Thankspretty sure that is from the PG contracted VAFI factory because it has that 8748 that is on every other one out of the same location.
Probably cheaper than the US equivalent price, like those Carquest Premiums up there.I don’t even want to know how much it will cost when it comes to Canada![]()
They did raise the price a couple of bucks, last one I bought was $10.56 ($7.68 US)Probably cheaper than the US equivalent price, like those Carquest Premiums up there.
