I bought a new Bronco Outer Banks with Sasquatch package yesterday. 2.7 Ecoboost V6 and 10 speed. Any special advice on driving or maintenance? I am not interested in hearing from those who say I made a mistake.

I figure 5K oil changes with full synthetic 5w-30. I will go with the Motocraft oil and filters to start with. Is it true Motocraft is made by Castrol?

Congratulations !

I like those broncos! Pretty nice rigs. We have a few in our off road club and they're quite impressive. You can get the top down/ doors off experience without the reliability issues of jeep.

I do wish Ford put in an offroad worthy suspension/steering setup in them, but I understand why they didn't.

Sounds like a great truck! Need pics! My advice would be that your plan is great and to get that thing out on the trails! When my 2018 Jeep was new, I had it on its first trail run at only 700 miles. Lol! People thought I was nuts, but that's what these things are designed for! That Sasquatch package makes the Bronco incredibly capable!

Will you get it dirty up there in KIngman? Not asking price but are they dealing between end of year and the supposed lack of sales?

Photos.
Of course I will get it dirty, after a while. It was an end of year, clear out inventory deal. It had been a service loaner for about 2,400 miles so that reduced the price some more. A very pretty Eruption Green. They are going to give me a Sasquatch spare tire cover. There is no way I can see exposing the spare tire to Arizona sun.

Congrats! Nice vehicle. Motorcraft oil and filters are absolutely fine. Enjoy.

Nice vehicle. The 2.7 is one of Ford's best engines and mated to the 10 speed is a great package.

I've got a 2016 F150 with 143,000 on my 2.7. The 2.7 has been rock solid in it. Was on Motorcraft semi syn and filters through the powertrain warranty, and then I switched to Castrol Magnatec and now Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic and motorcraft filters.

I've been following the OLM and changing between 20 and 30% remaining life. Tends to be around 7500 miles.

I like them! And that green is a great color!

There is a member here that is driving two of these in Alaska I believe and testing HPL and Valvoline Restore and Protect. It won't take much to find that thread. From the photos posted, I would highly suggest one of those oils.

What about transmission service ? I had the transmission serviced at the dealership at 55k on my explorer. Hopefully that helps it last.

Unlike the 3.5EB which was evolved from a NA car engine, the 2.7 was a clean sheet design to have a lot of boost pumped through it right from the get go. I'm not a fan of the oil pump belt, but otherwise a really good engine!

Congrats! They are great rigs, and I will be considering one someday when I replace my Jeep, though I am not in a hurry.

Look up Justin King on Youtube. He switched from Jeep to Bronco and has some good videos on his 1 year and 2 year ownership. He has had, and still has, a problem or two, but overall it has been a good rig for him in some hard offroad use.
