The local Dodge dealership was bought by the person who owns the local Chevrolet/GMC dealership last year but right before the sale, the Dodge dealership final got rid on an 18 Hellcat that they had sat on for months, probably almost a year. The MSRP was about $74K but I don't know what they ended up selling it for.
This dealership hardly ever ordered Challengers, let alone V8 Challengers. This car was the third Hellcat they had gotten in since the Hellcat came out. The other two they sold for over MSRP. By the time they got the 18 in, supply had caught up with demand but they wouldn't budge on price and expected to get over MSRP on it. I went there just to check it out soon after they got it in and talked to the sales guy for awhile about it.
The new owners now have several of the SRT Challengers and Chargers for sale. I've not seen a Hellcat there yet though.
As far as giving a Hellcat to a young new driver, that is insane. My 14 Mustang GT only has 420 HP and it almost got away from me one time when I got on it to pass someone. I can just imagine what 707 hp can do. I would love to own one though.
