Back story:
I had a beautiful F150 Lariat with a 5.4 that I was willing to keep for a long time. Unfortunately a young driver that was texting missed a red light and totaled my truck. Good news is everyone escaped the accident with minor injuries. Bad new was my truck had 19k in damage.
So I ended up buying a new truck (F150). Because of YE rebates and dealers wanting to move stock I ended up getting a great deal on a truck with the ecoboost.
Because I tend to keep vehicles a long time and this is a DI motor I am slightly concerned with valve deposits. I used Pennzoil Platinum / Pennzoil Ultra and MC in my 5.4 but I am not sure if they are good choices for the EB.
FWIW I change my oil between 5k and 7.5k miles. I am trying to understand what values to look for in an oil that will lessen deposits but I am slightly confused. Is noack the main value to look at or are their other considerations? I don't mind spending the money on premium oils if they make a difference but of course I would like to not overspend. My goal is to make this a 200k + mile motor and I put 30-40k miles a year on my truck.
Sorry for the long post.
Cheers
