Have you ever seen a group 49? I don't think they make anything bigger!

Hi Guys,

Its for Cayenne.
Yup JC makes them but in Germany not around here

Group size 93 is the same dimensions but slightly less height, check for one of those that meets your amp hour. Honestly I think your fine with the highest quality 95 or higher amp hour rating. I certainly wouldn't pay an extra $350 for the difference between 95 to 105 unless it would void my warranty.

Yep. I ones had a 16 year old Nissan with the original battery in it. Worked perfectly.

the varta battery is europe only and 300$+ shipping anyway.

dealer 500$ isnt looking that bad compared to that if you really need that much.

actually the price 673$ plus tax
when I called to confirm price

the OEM is Varta, looking at some other options

I would seriously consider the Oydssey stuff. They do not use "recycled" lead from old batteries. Their website does show a valid battery for the Cayenne for under $400. BatteriesPlus stores can order them for you.

Yup, locally odyssey is 370$ + Tax
Online 300$ with free shipping

Problem is that it's not direct fit...
It says that it might require changes to bracket, all great but because of the location + vent + cover etc ...it might be not possible and I really don't want to improvise

Group 49 is one of the biggest that can be found in most stores, Group 95R is slightly bigger and hard to find.

Group 49: L:381mm X W:175mm X H:192mm
Group 95R: L:394mm X W:175mm X H:190mm

Every Odyssey I've ever looked up has said that. I think they use that as a catch-all since they can't possibly know of every last bracket or mounting solution.

I would just ask on the Porsche forums and see what other people have done. We've tried giving you suggestions but you've poo-pooed all of them.

No response on Porsche forum ...

I appreciate suggestions but I have more details about the battery

Voltage [V]: 12
Battery Capacity [Ah]: 105
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), EN [A]: 950
Length [mm]: 393
Width [mm]: 175
Height [mm]: 190

So it is different size the Odyssey - and Odyssey is not strong enough with 770 CCA

I will be looking at VW/AUDI dealer otherwise I will import Varta from europe

You can somewhat ignore the Odyssey CCA ratings -- they are typically underrated due to the "virgin" lead being used. Note that they have a 48-month full-replacement warranty, which is unheard of and truly proves the quality of the product.

PS, Odyssey is sold as DieHard Platinum at Sears.

It's your money - you are really overthinking (maybe underthinking) this. Tell us what the total cost with shipping was for a lead battery you imported from Europe?

It doesn't have to be the exact size or rating as original. Plenty of good advice given. Use a group 49 and relax - you will be fine.
