I recently switched from a Keurig, to automatic drip, a friend of mine gave me a Mr Coffee to mess around with, to see if I liked it or not, before I went out and bought one. I'm looking to get some recommendations, for a automatic drip, I prefer one with strong brew setting, shower spray vs drip for better saturation of the coffee. Looking for recommendations!! Thanks in advance. I'm only interested in automatic drip..

I have a Mr. Coffee and have had good results. Previously I had a Cuisinart which also gave good results.

Just get a cheap no frills Mr. Coffee and don’t look back. If you want it strong, add more grounds.
I tried a Bunn for one day and took it back. It forced the water over the grounds too fast to extract any goodness. The result was muddy water.
Cuisinart don’t last for the money you spend on one.
Braun makes a decent unit.

This ^^^ you can get better saturation by putting the normal filter in - then coffee - then a second filter over that
If you put lots of grinds - it might take a smaller filter … this stops that “punch through” issue

This can also tell you when the machine needs cleaning

We've had a Cuisinart coffee maker for about 20 years. Our daughter has one too. They're hard to beat.

The switch has been touchy for about 5 years but it keeps on going. When it fails I'll get - a new switch.

Similar to this:

Best coffee I ever drank came out of a Cuisinart. They're drip makers but they go a decade before the plastic body cracks somewhere around the reservoir & then slow seepage of water. : l
Keep saving the decanter from the last one expecting I'll need a replacement one day. I now have two spare decanters in storage. : )
Got the newest unit working couple of weeks ago.

A new basic Mr. Coffee brews real nice too for 1/12 the price. No special features though.

Braun, Cuisinart and Krups used to make well regarded coffee makers, but I think the quality of Braun and Krups has slipped in recent years. I now use a $40 Hamilton Beach model I bought at Kohl's for $16 and a Mueller coffee maker I bought this year on Amazon for $45. I find that spending more money on one doesn't always translate to better coffee.

Seems like a nice looking coffee maker for the money..
It has the “shower head” feature you mentioned in your op for even water distribution over the grounds and also a “clean” setting that works well. I’ve had mine for almost three years and it makes much better coffee compared to my old mr. Coffee machines I’ve had over the years.
