Just added the 2007 Accent to my garage. Has the 1.6L four cylinder in it. Just turned 36k miles on it, and has an unknown maintenance history. Does not appear to be abused, however. I only put about 5 to 6k miles annually on my car, so have gone to a 6 month OCI on the Accord, which will be replaced by the Accent. My guess is continue the 6 month OCI with either PYB or Mobil Super 5000? Ideas?

Have heard Quaker State Ultimate Durability runs quiet in Hyundais/Kias. Go OEM with the oil filter.

You hit it on the button my sonata loves qsud but am currently running Amsoil O.E 5W30 and its never been quieter.

Six months on PYB or a year on whatever syn you prefer. What weight do they require for that model and year? You could probably run the beloved German Castrol 0w30 in that and change it annually.

I use PureONE filters on our Hyundai, which are working very well. Their OEM filters are good too.

WM, everyday low prices can't even beat any auto parts stores sale prices.

OOPS! That should have read, "CAN beat any auto parts stores sale prices!"
See what happens when you have not slept in over 21 hours?

Yeah, it actually does have the OM, I yes, I have actually read it. Just curious about other people's opinions, that's all.

Anyway your oil choice is fine.

I can run either 5w-20 or 5w30.

I will probably run OEM filters as soon as I go through some Purolator filters I have in the stash. The OEM filters seem to run fine on the Tucson

Not here; local store sale price w/ rebate gives syn blend for between $1 and $1.75/qt.

AA had Peak for $9.99 with filter for 5.1qt jug.

We had a rental Hyundai a while back that was filled with Mobil 0w20, and overcooked by at least a quart, and it was overdue for an oil change, and the oil was black as bight and smelled of fuel... and the motor was fairly quiet. Though it did increase in noise level over the course of a 3k mile trip in 2-3 days.

I have a 2011 accent with the same engine. I am using honda sm 0w20 with and oem hyundai filter 6 month oil changes. This is a great combination!

I have a 2008 Accent. I use M1 0w20 and change it at 7.5k no matter the time it's been in there. If I only drove 5k a year I would only change it once a year.

My driving is as varied as you can get. Usually a good portion of the daily mileage at highway speeds with a lot of city driving too. Many (+20) engine stop/starts per day once I get to town.

I use the OEM filters.
