It has a european look to it. I like how DI is going to be standard. Although Ford and others have not yet figured out the inherent valve deposit problem yet.

I really want to drive a car with a DSG transmission.

Go test drive a VW w/DSG.

They just shift fast, really fast.

OH! So my car is much closer to 100% American than I thought. Car, engine, and transmission all from Michigan.

I dunno how reliable the info I found is, but 2010 Focus 90% US/Canuck parts content?

Looks impressive. I still have not seen weight figures, but I'm guessing it will increase significantly over the current generation. Thus, the extra 20HP/10ft-lbs. may not be felt much. I still wish they would offer the 2.5.

It has timing chain? That would be a welcome sight because it would mean it has non-interference engine and I wouldn't be blackmailed into replacing OEM waterpump whenever I change a timing belt pre-maturely. I'll sign up for AAA and ride the tow truck for free, if it comes to that and the total AAA membership fee over 10-15 years is still cheaper than replacing things before they break.

Go Ford, it's your B-day.

IT IS an interference engine. And it has HAD a timing chain for years! I agree timing chain is > Timing belt though. But it's nothing new to this engine.

Is the DSG transmission the type where the clutch is electronically controlled and I can shift more freely and faster pace?
