Within the next 30 days, I'll have my mother-in-law's 2005 Accord with 21k miles on it. Nope, she did not croak. She will shortly be purchasing a 2010 Prius.
All dino oil changes for her once per year.
My plan (once I've reviewed the maintenance receipts) is to have a UOA performed if the current oil has at least 4k - 5k miles on it, change it out to 5w-20 dino, and add a bottle of Auto-Rx for a 2,200 mile "wash," followed by more dino for a 2,500 mile "rinse."
New coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and a new PCV valve. Follow that with a new cabin and air filter, one tankful of Gumout Regane, then use FP Plus for future re-fuels.
The kicker? The lovely 5-speed Honda auto tranny! I have an outside chance with this "highly reliable" tranny. That chance involves flushing the tranny with RLI full syn ATF, then adding a Magna-fine filter?
