The stick-on foam gasket on my Taurus airbox isn't sticking-on anymore. What would you guys suggest for a more permanent fix? Anything silicone based?

Contact cement? Patch with that stuff used for stuffing in windows when you put in an air conditioning unit?? Junkyard ..find another air box??

I don't think it would be permanent, but Lowe's and HD depot have a fairly wide selection of foam and rubber weather stripping you may be able to adapt.

I used the self-adhesive foam rubber that's commonly used around windows and doors. It's available at most hardware type stores, and even Walmart. There were two different types (and various sizes). A gray foam sponge and black foam rubber types. Having used both types around my doors, I stuck with the black foam rubber type. It seems to be more durable, and has held up on my air intake very well.

dunno re Taurus, but the air box on my heep is gasketed by flanges on the filter element. What Gary said if this is a problem for you

Ny car didn't come with a foam gasket. However, I have been thinking about installing one like the foam strips with the peel off adheasive on the back like rec. above. Is that going to create a problem where none exists or make a better seal? Car is a 94 Chevy Impala SS with 5.7 V8
