What can I do to make my front yard a bit more attractive? I am not into gardening and, being busy with work, have no time for it.
Some sort of permeable paving? The tree sheds a lot and the paving should not interfere with sweeping up the yard.
I cannot get rid of the tree even if I wanted to. The city wants to preserve its trees and requires you to apply for a permit before any tree removal and will refuse to issue the permit unless there was the danger of the tree falling over or some other compelling reason.Tear out dangerous concrete. Looks like a law suit
Make a new path away from tree as much as possible
Or get rid of tree and plant an evergreen
Poured concrete wallWhat is on sidewalk side of tree grass area?
You are absolutely correct ! many Canadian cities are going this route needing a permit and permission to cut trees.I cannot get rid of the tree even if I wanted to. The poor shape of the concrete is from my idiot neighbour ( luckily he sold the house and I have new neighbours now). The driveway is shared and he had a huge dumpster put in to haul away dirt form his backyard. All the damage you see, including the major damage adjacent to the sidewalk, is from that dumpster. I have to pour new concrete.
The river rocks look very attractive, I might go that route. The leaf blower suggestion is not something I had thought of.
Is it serviceable? Powerwash and look ok?Poured concrete wall

that bylaw just passed where I live .
Two years ago they were clear cutting bush across the road from me knowing this was coming .
What a shame beautiful hard wood bush gone and left to grow up in an eyesore of scrub and weeds.
