need help choosing a filter

So I have a 96 miata that I'm about to finish an engine rebuild on and need help choosing a filter. I'm turbo charging the car and rerouting a lot of coolant lines so while I'm at it I'm doing a remote mount oil filter. The stock filter is 20mmx1.5 the new one needs to be 13/16"-16. I have some distanceplus and p1 filters in my shed for my c1500 5.7L that have the right threads but the bypass relief valve opening pressure is much higher around 22psi vs 11-17psi on the miata oem filters. Will they work, if not could someone recommend a filter for my application?

not sure if it makes a difference but with the turbo I'll be making about 150hp over stock and the car will be holding at least a quart more oil than stock (10w40 and 20w50)

GM uses a block internal bypass it's not in the filter.
 
I guess that 22psi rating was bogus (I got it from fram) so I'll be switching to 3/4-16 now thanks
 
I just wanted to mention that because if using a GM filter you would have no bypass if there's not another in your system.
 
I've never really studied into filters before so that's good to know , the 3/4"-16 filters I've seen have a bypass but are all rated at 8-11psi or around 27-35psi which end of the spectrum would be safer(with regular oil change every 3-5k miles).
 
With all the rework you're doing, the filter selection is of easy, but little, consequence.

As always, the question of OCI comes up. If you're going to be doing less than 10k mile, I like many of the Wix products.

If you choose the 51307 from Wix, it has a very nice Beta ratio, and will fit just about any 3/4-16 mount that would accept the famous FL-1A can, as it is actually smaller than the equivilant 51515, but filters "better". And since you are remote mounting, that should be no issue. If you want the bypass psi to be closer to the OEM, then look at the 51311, which is slightly shorter than the 51307, but with a higher BP setting.

You can play back and forth between the Wix and Dolandson websites. The Donaldson even has an attribute search feature.

He can probably go with the lower bypass setting. The larger filter area, when compared to the OEM 20x1.5mm offering, should reduce most potential bypass events. Depending on pump volume and hose diameter/length, I might want to attempt to balance out potential MAX pressure alterations to the circuit.
