Hey guys,

The car in question is a 95 Lexus Gs300 with 189k currently running castrol edge.

I would like to use a high quality oil like SSO, the problem I run into is that they do not make 25k filters for my car Only 7500miles.

What should I do in this situation? Should I just run the amsoil 7500xl with the filter? Or run the SSO but change out the filter twice?

What other oil filters could I use for this application?
Thanks!

How many miles do you drive to work and back.

Is this mostly highway miles that you use the car for.

Does this car see any short trip driving.

It is a mix of both short trip/hwy. I would say 60%hwy and 40% short trip driving. I would say around 300+ miles a week.

As odd as this may sound, this is one of the few times you'll ever hear me recommend a FRAM Xtended Guard. I'm not sure what the specific holding capacity for your filter would be, but the whopping 28gms listed on their example is impressive.

SSO for 15k plus 2 puralator p1 filters + the new amsoil engine flush after every oil change. I think that sounds like a plan.

Be sure to pull a UOA before just straight running right to 25k. I'd probably pull one at 15k max. Not that it will happen to you, but I have seen an SSO UOA that pretty much was shot after 15k.

He won't be doing 25k. He'll be doing one year and fall between 15k-17k.
