My new GTR has a nice NAV system. I was hoping to find a better for me voice option like I had on my cheap GARMIN. I can't seem to find a setting to change the voice. I can change the volume. I hope I explained this so someone understands me. Ed

Not possible.

I'm waiting for the day when it can be made into my wife's voice. "Turn right here--no, wait, I meant left! Now great, you just missed the turn."
one of the aftermarket nav brands used to have a piece of software that let you record/build your own voice...my buddy had one of them, and getting sick of the available options (he was delivering pizzas at the time, avg 100 mi daily in the city) was thinking of recording either his boyfriend, or their cats.
it was either for Garmin, or Magellan...

Did you get a new Nissan GT-R Skyline? What is a GTR?

My 2007 Acura MDX Nav rocking DVD's allowed you to pick Male or Female in the settings of vehicle.

I have a 2010 Mazda CX 5 GT-Reserve. The built in NAV sustem works very well and I love the HUD function showing the distances and directions of upcoming turns, etc. I had to crank to volume up on the NAV voice to be able to hear it over the stereo system if listening to Sirius XM or music from the USB drive but as Pim Tac says, you can also get into the settings menu and turn the NAV voice all the way down if you don't want it.

Regarding any aftermarket systems, I can use the WAZE app on my $70 Tracfone Samsung A10e smartphone through the Android auto function. No need to spend $500-$1200 !
But.... other that the WAZE function of showing road hazards or where a cop with a radar gun may be hiding, the display screen is too busy looking and I find the Mazda NAV system much easier to use, either from the dash screen or the HUD.

I haven’t found that. I can set volume like high-med-low but not mute.

I wonder if we have different systems? Is yours a 2019? You might have Apple Car Play or Android which are different. My 2017 didn’t come with those but can be upgraded if I choose.

OMG, Everone will need to purchase a $500 to $1,200 smart phone to run a vehicle NAV system? Ed
Enough people already have them that the automakers can consider it a more feasible option. Google and Apple are continually making updates to Android Auto and Apple Carplay to go along with this direction too.
