Shell unveils expanded range of
motorsport lubricants
Competitors can now choose a lubricant tailored to meet their specific motorsport needs with the launch of a new range of five high-performance lubricants from Shell Racing Solutions*. The range, comprising four Shell Helix Racing engine oils and a new Shell Helix Racing gear oil, has been developed to meet the specific demands of F3, rallying and sports cars among others. All will be on show at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in January 2005.
The new Shell Helix Racing lubricants are all synthetic, designed for ultimate performance, friction reduction and protection. Developed with Shell's extensive experience in motorsport around the world, from Ferrari in Formula One to Audi at Le Mans, the new products have all been tried, tested and proven in top-level motorsport.
Shell Helix Racing Engine Oil 0W-20 is a semi-synthetic lubricant developed with renowned race engine builder Mugen to meet their stringent requirements for motorsport use only. It has been optimised to
maximise engine power without increasing engine wear. The formulation exploits Shell's advanced XVHI base oils and a unique combination of performance additives.
Shell Helix Racing Engine Oil 0W-40 is a fully synthetic lubricant developed to suit high-performance competition engines especially in rallying. It is suitable for catalyst-equipped and turbo engines.
Shell Helix Racing Engine Oil 10W-60 is also fully synthetic. It has been developed for high performance racing engines in sports car and endurance racing and has been proven at racetracks around the world.
Shell Helix Racing Engine Oil 20W-40 has been developed to meet the most onerous operating conditions and is suitable for gasoline, diesel and LPG-fuelled race vehicles. It applies F1 know-how to deliver low friction with ultimate protection.
The last of the five, Shell Helix Racing Gear Oil 75W-90 is fully synthetic and delivers protection in extreme load conditions. It is ideal for use in transaxles, synchro and non-synchro manual gearboxes,
ensuring low wear, excellent shift performance and minimised losses.
