About 5000 miles on this filter. Didn't see any problems. Well made filter. Filter was on a 1999 Ford Taurus 3.0 Vulcan with 210,000 miles. Oil was Mobil Super 5000 5w20.

I changed to PYB with Fram Ultra.

Enjoy!

The material felt stiff, but no rips or tears.

A little wavy. Pleats were well spaced.

Valve was flexible, but a little stiff.

Change oil after 5000 miles, but leave the filter alone. Will change the filter at 10,000 miles, which will take at least a year.

Sounds like a solid plan.

Looks good, and that it could have gone farther, but 5k not bad. And this NS application uses Wix's traditional metal coil spring thread end bypass. No combo valve. Definitely a plus imo.

Thanks for the pics.

The Vulcan is very easy on oil.
You could take the lube to 10k and probably filter to 15k or more.

I agree with you, Fram Ultra oil filter can easily do 15k miles or a littler longer in a clean engine. But 10k miles for conventional oil, even the good ones like Mobil Super 5000 is a little too much.

I would limit conventional oil change interval to no more around 7-8k miles, unless I do several UOA's to verify that the driving and the oil condition justify that long OCI.

Looks great, an FL-400s equivalent. By far my favorite budget filter.

Thanks for cutting ans posting!
