I took this off of a 2011 Honda Civic EX-L that I purchased from a lady last week. The oil is unknown bulk oil from a shop. Total miles on the car when I removed this filter was 123,688. The ADBV was not nearly as soft and flexible as the orange silicone ADBV's that I usually see on Wix/Purolator/Fram, but not terrible either. COO is china. Back in/on went 3.75 quarts of Mobil Clean 5,000 5W30 and a Purolator PureOne PL14610 filter.

So what's the verdict? Looks about average to me.
For the price, I'd say there are definitely better options out there. For less money you can get a Fram PH7317 with a silicone ADBV, and made in the USA. If someone gave it to me for free I'd run it, but otherwise, I'd pass. But overall you are correct, about average.

Nice photos. Hard to go wrong with Mobil Clean/Super 5,000. I have almost 60 gallons of it in 5w and 10w30. Nice cut and post. Thank You friend 👍👍🍻🍻

Unless you can find new old stock, all Fram orange and TGs have gone to nitrile adbvs unfortunately.

Topic is the exact filter application I removed from my neighbor's Civic when I did an oil and filter change for her a while ago. I never posted pics but topic looks very similar post use. It's the jobber filter used by local indy shop where she had her last o&f change done.

My biggest or really only gripe about filter is shown in pic#1, which I also found. You can see part of the outlet metal flange exposed between ~7-10 o'clock on the flange. That 'could' be a point bypass in use. It's as if either during assembly and/or use, part of nitrile adbv collar rolls slightly down from the top. Either way, not ideal adbv construction, but not close to the Gonher made Nissan oem OF which completely flipped the silicone adbv and slid down the flange.

Otherwise, I found the nitrile adbv to be about as pliable as other nitrile adbvs I've dealt with. The rest of the filter decent, especially for a jobber tier filter. I replaced the topic filter with a WM ST MP7317 for then price ~$5.50.

Thanks for c&p, now no need for me to post the one I have.

I keep reading that, maybe it's a regional thing because they are all still orange silicone around here, at least at Walmart.
Just looked at old stock TGs I got on clearance about 2 years ago, all 3 have an orange valve. (and one installed on the car right now most likely too)
