Some pics of the Champ XL that was in service for about 18 months and 10k miles on my wife's 2011 Nissan Quest.
Silicone Adbv was still soft and pliable.
Louvers looked good, well opened up.
And the media looked good.
I don't normally let the oil and filter go past a year but life got away from me as we had a baby in November.

The Microgard looks like a good filter but really they both do. That last pic is the overall height the same?

The Migrogard is slightly taller.

If it was a cartridge filter then that may be a concern but since it's a spin on there's no problem with it being taller. Just thinking out loud & I know you already know this. Can I ask you the price difference between them & are you going to keep the same oil filters on your Nissan's?

Thank you for your post. I run those XL's pretty frequently in my shop and the commercial price is very good, usually just a buck or 2 more for an XL over the regular STP blue 5k mile filter. Glad to see they look good after use.

I believe the Champ XL was between $5-6
Microgard Select was around $8
Microgard Select is what went back on both Nissans and is my preference going forward.
