NAPA Gold Bypass Valve?

I was looking at oil filter videos and came across the NAPA Gold video. I never relized that the NG uses the threaded end bypass just as the MC does.
Then, I came across this other video, which shows the NG using a dome end bypass.

The base end bypass takes up a lot of real estate - for a specific form factor.
Min spec filter media area my require a change to dome bypass for packaging reasons.

The FL820S application is one of the very rare exceptions to the Wix/NG use of thread end bypass. Whether it has to do with some patent issue or something similar, hard to say. But, you won't find many Wix/NG with dome bypass like the 5/1372.

Also iirc the M1 which uses thread end bypass in many/most applications also uses dome bypass in the FL820S application.
