n/v 5600 dodge 3500

can anyone tell me what transmission fluid is speced for the 6 speed n/v 5600?
dads truck, he went to dealer after we looked in manual and only can get a mopar part #.(sorry i didn't write it down)
dodge dealer says its not a stock item and you'll have to order a case ,(12 qts.) dealer couldn't even come up with trans capacity, and owners manual was just about as useless.
(at least owners manual doesn't give you that glazed-over stare)
any help from the dodge crew out there?

9.6 pints. I remember reading the Penn Synchromesh was recommended and Amsoils 5W30 manual transmission fluid also!
