My Next New Car

Interesting, though an econobox isnt what I'd have in mind when shopping for a 250hp car.

Unfortunately they get lumped with the cobalt SS and similar.

But I did really like the rental focus that I had for 4 months...

I'm about ready to cool my love affair with Volkswagen and this Focus just might be the fling I need to heal my broken heart. From the pictures it appears to be a fairly well thought-out platform. I'd love the have the four-door version. Hot hatch indeed!

Great, I was hoping that Ford was going to bring the GT version of the Focus to N/A. I am a Mazdaspeed 3 fan but have to admit that the Focus blows away the Mazda in the looks dept.

How different from the Euro RS/RS500 version is the suspension setup, and gearbox on the ST?? (I KNOW those models have a high boost I5 2.5 as a powerplant, I'm asking about the rest of the package, besides the obvious bodywork, interior, wheels/tires.

Also, have you heard anything about the ST being offered as a three door hatch?

Love that Volvo engine! I5's have a real unique growl which I find quite appealing and the B525 has huge power potential. But honestly that 2012 Focuses design is just crazy juvenile. What is the deal with the gaping largemouth bass grille?! I'd rather have that boosted B525 in a classy, understated V50 wagon

I have no idea on the suspension. I'm still trying to figure out if the ST will replace the RS and be THE global HP version....Or will the EU still have this ST and then a new RS later with even more HP? I'm guessing the RS will be gone and the ST will be it.

As for a three door, I'm with you, but I dont think that is going to happen, here in the states at least. The last I heard the EU MAY get a three door version a year or so after debut, NA availability is still an unknown...How about a ST Wagon?

Wow. With that redesigned front end, it's the new Mitsubishi Focus.

Did a designer quit at Mitsu, and get hired at Ford?

What Mitsubishi does this car remind you of?

When I first saw that big grill, it kinda reminded me of Aston Martin.

It looks ok with the big Euro front plate imo, with no plate at all here in Michigan, thats a lotta empty space.

That was my first thought too.

I have a feeling the US will probably get a slightly different front fascia, that front end matches up better with FoE design.

oh, so your next car is a four cylinder, front wheel drive econobox?

Very interesting that Ford does this, JUST as GM drops the 260-HP Cobalt SS.

Ford and GM are definetly doing a dance, and they are doing it together:

- Ford drops the rear-drive/V-8 police car package just as Chevrolet debuts a V-8/rear drive police car;

- Ford debuts a turbocharged 250 HP compact just as Chevy drops a 260 HP turbocharged compact car.

Seriously, Mitsu started this angry murderous fish trend, which was uber disappointing. Then Nissan of all people scarred the GT-R with it... now Ford is all about this nonsense. Someone please make it stop!

I'm glad to see that someone else noticed it as well...
