My new car.

I must say, I never realized how similar the side and rear of the Infiniti J30 and Mercury Sable look.
Right! I couldn’t put my finger on it. Never liked the Sable. I generally don’t ask people for their opinions, I just buy. It really angers my wife occasionally.

The car looks like a Jaguar. (J30)

Sevier than an X-type

It looks like an X type mixed with an XJ.

What a trainwreck of a thread.

Good luck dude your going to need it!

Why is it a train wreck of a thread?

Why am I going to need the good luck?

..you don't like the car?

I can't please everyone, all the time.

Cool car! I like these more than I should, and they look cool, like a Japanese Jaguar, but not the best choice in a Japanese car. Mechanically, it's basically a 300ZX sedan

The VG30DE has a timing belt, and it is also hard to work on. A lot of parts aren't available for it. For example, you can't get shocks for it (OE supplier was Tokico). The J30 also has surprisingly little room inside and a tiny trunk too. The 93 doesn't have heated seats or keyless entry, and timing belt interval is only 60k. It went to 105k starting in 94.

Not a good idea to buy something obscure when money is tight

Then don't ask for opinions on a public forum.

Any nearly 30 year old car is bound to need work.

You misconstrue me here.

I'm asking.. I want to hear more from the people that say NAY!

I'm hearing "No" and "Don't buy." I would like to ask more as to the WHY?

I'm not going to throw it back in anyone's face, if that's a concern.

The Subaru is at best on hold, might even go away...

You know I'm thinking about maybe bailing out on the Subaru?

I didn't say not paying the guy, screwing someone. I mean maybe getting out of the car.. scrap sell or fix and sell.
