Musk Says Tesla ‘Dug Our Own Grave’ With The Cybertruck

Case might be used, but not for reasons you think.
He managed to use excuse from his language. Considering all his tamper tantrum regarding that case where he was willing to sacrifice 13 lives for his PR stunt, highly doubt that was the case. His later behavior just confirms that.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion. But I suggest first you read up on it, your forming opinions based on prejudice.
It's really weird in public forums. Many call lawyers "gold diggers" unless it's against someone like Musk who they do not like. Then the lawyer isnt a gold digger right? (im not saying you)

Same goes here, and you accuse him of endangering the lives of 13 children, dramatic for someone like Musk who at his expense sent a submarine to help out. Not only that, this exchange took place AFTER the rescue. Thats when it got nasty because this one rescue guy said it was a PR stunt, with no evidence of course and told Musk to stick his sub where it hurts, at that point Musk responded in kind.

I keep saying it but one last time I urge people to read and understand why a jury of American citizens ruled in less then 2 hours that Musk was not liable.

"The outburst last year appeared to be in response to comments made by Mr Unsworth in an interview on CNN, in which he criticised Mr Musk’s decision to send a purpose-built mini-submarine to the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai Province to help with rescue efforts.

Mr Unsworth described it as a “PR stunt”, later adding that Mr Musk could "stick his submarine where it hurts”.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Musk said: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it."

When questioned about the allegation by other Twitter users, Mr Musk replied with “bet ya a signed dollar it's true”. That tweet was also later deleted."

Musk being a public figure did apologize =
“His actions against me do not justify my actions against him,” he wrote, explaining that his comments were "spoken in anger after Mr Unsworth said several untruths and suggested I engage in a sexual act with the mini-sub, which had been built as an act of kindness and according to specifications from the dive team leader”.

Bottom line? Musk did not commit liable. That is the law and no law was broken, nor was anything else proven in his actions except that he, at his expense send a submarine to hopefully help in the rescue and one obnoxious rescuer called it a PR stunt.

Ill REALLY refrain from commenting further, going in circles now :)

From what I've read the battery alone is what $25-$30 grand? Add that I think some people are getting insurance shock. From what I've seen a number of people with deposits have been quoted $4,850-$5,880 a year on insurance. It sounds like it will be a throw away vehicle with very little repairable options. So much for "saving the planet " according to Musk.

This is something that a lot of people overlook I think. Let’s say you buy a Cybertruck and a few weeks later some idiot t-bones you and causes extensive damage to it. Do you think that you will be able to just drop the truck off at a body shop and have them fix it? No way. There’s no body shop around that’s going to know where to even begin with this thing. Stainless steel panels, almost guaranteed to not be able to get any delivered from the factory, and several other issues. I’d say you’d be without your truck for a LONG time.

Great point!
Or the insurance company will total it.

Is there any tests of how bulletproof the cybertruck is?

It is the first ever electric truck but it's also the first mass produced bullet proof vehicle. As wealth inequality increases violent crime is also going to go up.

Tesla is again ahead of the curve by offering bullet proof vehicles.

Normally people have to pay third parties a lot of money to bullet proof their vehicles.

Also will the bullet proof feature get introduced to the rest of the Tesla range?

Tesla does not in anyway advertise it as a bulletproof truck, just bulletproof side panels.
When you ask about tests that is interesting, good question, last I read they have not received any industry approvals for their claims or armor rating.

It's not bulletproof. Just shoot through the glass. Call me crazy but I assume violent criminals dont aim for the doors of a car because pretty good chance even bullets that penetrate regular car doors are slowed down.
Proper wording in the media would be bulletproof door panels. I would wonder to what caliber myself.

I have read that Tesla says bulletproof side windows will be available as an option. We will need to wait and see if that happens or not, the company has said things about options in the past. If it does become available, the windows will be fixed and unable to roll down.
So thinking about it, maybe this is a reasonable cost vehicle for someone living in a dangerous area or concerned about their safety.
If so I can see lots of criminals wanting this! *LOL*

It was a problem for aluminum vehicles for a long time too.

I think the reason for the body panels wasn’t likely the goal to make it bullet proof, it likely was a side effect of the material chosen. Of course they’d claim it if their material stops bullets. Ford and GM would claim it too if they’d done it, especially on something like the F150 or Hummer. Got to make overly tough vehicles to make everyone’s inner child grin like a fool. No matter how unnecessary we think it is there’s got to be a part of us that sees why someone would think it was cool.

Yes, SS is naturally strong most likely same with Delorean too.. nothing wrong with claiming the door panels can stop bullets.
I think it is cool too, the nature of stainless steel. Just a reply to using the words bulletproof car by the media which it is not unless bulletproof glass and whatever other requirements are needed to satisfy the meaning.

Experts in the field (which he, you or I do not know anything about) told him that it could not nor it would EVER work! He kept pushing!
They know problems around that, HE DOES NOT! He got "offended" because someone told him to take a hike!
So, no you do not know everything about the issue as you think you do. It was a PR stunt! Why he get involved in it in the first place? What does he know about it? Do you go around your place of living and stick your nose into every problem, or there are people who are experts in what they do? Is Musk an expert cave diver? So, yeah, it was a PR stunt like everything he does.

Yeah the "bullet proof " moniker was only for slow .45 rounds from a Tommy gun. 9mm 40 cal and others can punch through it.

Turns out people can only order a “Foundation Series” for $119,990. Doesn’t include the range extender. CA and TX only. Other states next year.

Elon’s lies never stop…

Back in 2006 there was a bit of fearmongering when BMW released the new 5-series (aka E60). BMW used adhesives and iirc a special type of aluminum for the front 1/3 of the vehicle. At the time only a couple of shops nationwide could repair the frame of an E60. The repair market adapted and BMW sold thousands of E60's worldwide. BMW continues to use adhesives today.

1. 2024 might see the $79,990 available

2. 2025 before you will see a $61,000 based one available and forget ever seeing the $39,000 base one :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: because that is going to be $61,000.

Tesla launch = years late, specs different, price different on a massive scale.

Yeah. They tend to be late. The prices in this market have kicked everyone in the privates. The fact that it's been pushed back so many times through inflation has only made it worse. I don't think anyone thought they would actually be able to do it for $39k when they originally announced it, but there would be no way to pull it off today.
