This is not making sense to me. At all.
First things first, Musk is the most successful human on the planet and is only the second human ever to have started 3ea "billion dollar" companies from the ground up. The first being my boss. By any measurable standard, his is, and continues to be, a stunning success.
Nor is NASA relying on Musk or SpaceX for its future. NASA has a VERY wide range of activities not associated with Musk in any way. So far, the F9 and FH rockets are proving to be workhorses. Exactly what we've needed for the last 50 years.
I predict Starship and the Cybertruck will have an appropriate measure of success. Remember there is no physical reason that either can't be done.
What I see here is that some people don't like Musk, don't understand his tenacity, and see his personality as a problem. By any objective measure, he's already proven himself capable beyond anyone else, anywhere.
