Hi,
we had a 2 weeks vacation in FL (while Chicago got some snowstorm), and coming back we passed trough GA, Atlanta area.
Beside the heavy traffic (even compared to Chicago area), we liked (temperature-wise, looking out the window).
What and where would be good to be in Atlanta area (or GA)?
I work in IT.
First priority is safe and good schools for kiddos!

much appreciated.

I've traveled to the ATL area a few times for work and it seems that the northern suburbs are quite nice. Some of the neighborhoods closer in have more of a city feel as well, with shopping and food nearly at walking distances. Like some of the other guys mentioned, I would assume that any city has its good and bad areas, with good and bad schools. However, I don't know anything about Atlanta politics, but I can't imagine it would be worse than Chicago's. Plus very different firearm regulations (especially compared to Cook County), if you're into that kind of thing.

i ave several friends in the atlanta area both north and south of the city , both areas good schools and taxes

expect a slower pace and a lot more politeness from folks but it does have it's share of big city problems .

concealed carry is a way of life in GA embrace your 2nd amendment rights

I got family in that part of Georiga. I like North Carolina better than Georgia.

I grew up in Cobb County, good schools in the Walton and Lassiter zones, where you live depends on where you work, commuting is a major pain, if possible live in the Watkinsville area (near Athens), have to really stress limit your commute by living as close to work as possible, good luck

My wife's family lives in Sandy Springs and we visit once or twice a year. I love visiting but I can't see myself living there.

The only good thing about my Mom living in Marietta, is the fact that I ride through the Smokies, and Blairsville- love riding the Gautlet and visiting Brasstown Bald. Valentino Rossi better lookout, I'm honing my skills as a roadracer every trip down there.

Soo, how do you (safely) go downhill in the twists?

Care to elaborate (NC and GA)?
Thank you

Charlotte is a big banking center. Lots of IT here. Unfortunately, Charlotte is owned by the left. Taxes and living expenses are skyrocketing. Wife and I are retired and will probably be moving in a few years.

You might checkout The Raleigh/Durham area. That is the tech area of the state.

On the plus side, you could apply to be a zombie in walking dead.

I have lived in the Atlanta area since 1961, (yes, I know it's a [censored] of a long time!).
My $0.02, Don't bother with Atlanta! Moved to Tn. a few years ago, love it!

The only thing Atlanta has going for it is weather. N.C., for instance, would be much better!
