With my 99 Tacoma 4 banger, I had a quandary as to where to mount the filter cannister and how to mount it, too. I've used magnets to stick the cannister in a corner not adaptable for drilling and bolting the unit in. It's worked well.
The Frantz takes standard TP rolls, all you have to do is peel enough paper off to fit the cannister. I've heard some other makes require trimming the roll, and that's a headache.

I " mounted " mine in the "V" section of my radiator fan shroud also have hung one fron my master cylinder ...that one is for my tranny and is a pain to change .

That's a brilliant idea, Mike. Which magnets worked for you?

Nothing fancy on the magnets. I bought some ceramic magnets, 1.50 each, at Home Depot. They are about 3/4" by 1.5". Likely about a quarter inch thick. They have a good pull and you can put the filter cannister most anywhere. I chose to put it in the right rear corner of the engine compartment. Fits good, no squeaking or scratching. They stay put. And, you can epoxy the magnets to the cannister if you want.
