I bought a 5L jug of motul xcess 5w40. That is equivalent to 1.37 gal, well I poured it into a 5qt jug, which is 1.25 gal. The motul jug didn't even completely fill the Pennzoil, 5qt jug.
It is short by 1/2 qt of the fill line on the 5qt jug WTH

What's the difference between 5L and 5 qts? edit: Just googled it. I'd get in touch with Motul. I'm sure they'll fix it for you.

Hey, I was gonna make this joke, but you got there before me :'(

I buy Motul Xcess 5W40 in 20L jugs, but I usually spill about 5% of it while pouring, so who knows if they shorted me...

It's 1.32 gallons. There is no fill line for the 5th qt. It's not supposed to completely fill the bottle. How would you pour the oil if it did?

That's what I'm saying, it didn't even fill a 5qt jug, it was half a quart short of filling it. You know the Pennzoil jugs have the clear window on the side. I used a funnel to pour it into the Pennzoil jug

Amazon prime

There ya go. The answer is to buy oil where you can see the bottle before paying.
