Motul Made in USA

Bottle design and labels are usually marketing concerns and can be influenced by regional requirements and preferences. The major U.S. additive package manufacturers have multiple domestic and European manufacturing locations. They can produce a package across locations without problem. My point is the two oils the OP specifies may use the same adpack in approved local base fluids.

In the past I worked for a company that manufactured motor oil based on an additive package made in the U.S. and France. They were interchangeable. We manufactured motor oil from this package in the U.S., Germany and Spain for the domestic, LATAM, European and Asian markets.

I like that the OP never responded to this thread and hasn't even back to the forum since 5 days after he started this thread.
All he had to do was call or email Motul for his answer.

fat chance to get an answer from motul either way.the worst company on customer care...actually there isnt one.
Thought I would test your opinion... :) Appears you are incorrect.
Their customer service responded to my email within 24 hours, and copied their technical dept.
Their technical dept took a week to respond, but finally did today:

Thank you for contacting Motul USA Technical Support.
We are writing to confirm that Motul 8100 X-cess Gen 2, manufactured in Italy, is completely miscible with Motul 8100 X-cess Gen 2, manufactured in the United States.
This miscibility is ensured by the following factors:

  1. Identical Viscosity Grade: Both products adhere to the same viscosity grade, ensuring optimal lubrication performance under various operating conditions.
  2. Consistent Additive Package: The additive packages used in both products are identical, providing consistent performance and protection for your engine. This includes essential additives like anti-wear, anti-oxidation, and detergent-dispersant components.
Therefore, you can confidently mix these two products without any adverse effects on your engine's performance or longevity.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or require additional information.

Best regards
